Rubbermaid Closet
Any tips on living in tiny places?
I live in a seriously tiny 2 bedroom 12x40 mobile home, with my new husband and my twin 9 year old girls. Their room is 11x8 and has NO closet (we took out the closet, because it took up 3'x11' of the room. This gave them more room, but once we put their bed in there, all we have room for is some rubbermaid stackable drwaers! HELP!!!! Our living room has to function as an activity room, with games and so on, with the TV, hubbys pc and desk, and two recliners. I am lost!
I live in a small mobile home as well. It is a challenge.
I find that the 'high up' space can be put to good use.
Usually the area from eye level to ceiling is 'empty' except for decoration.
Think of tall shelving (well anchored of course). Seldom used items and out of season clothing can be stacked up there.
Also use under-bed and other 'hidden' spaces to store pull-out boxes.
And, sometimes removing a door, which needs room to swing back and forth , and replacing it with a curtain can give you valuable inches for placing furniture. Closet doors can really take up bedroom space for instance.
Bunk beds can help. And multi-purpose desks and entertainment centers offer more options than a piece of furniture for each function.
